Kritish Rajbhandari

Kritish is a PhD candidate in Comparative Literary Studies with a home department in English and affiliation with the Poetry and Poetics Cluster. He received his B.A. in English from Reed College in Portland, Oregon. While at Reed, he wrote his senior thesis on the poetry of Ezra Pound and Wallace Stevens.

Kritish is interested in postcolonial theory, modernism, translation, deconstruction, and psychoanalysis. His dissertation explores the historical critique in contemporary Indian Ocean literature focusing on novels from South Asia and East Africa. He is a recipient of the Presidential Fellowship for the years 2017-2019. He has also been involved in co-translating a book of poetry from Newari to English.
